I’ve been surprised at how much of a “drinking town” San Francisco is. I think Bourdain(another east coaster) perfectly nailed my idea of what San Francisco was and is.

Currently I am interested in finding someone who CAN do reviews. I’m not that person. People can taste a beer and tell you what ingredients are in it. I can only taste it and tell you I like it. Since I am not really knowledgeable about “tasting” beer or brewing it, I feel it’s best to leave that to someone else until I know what the hell I am talking about. : )

FuckYeahBeer! is very open to someone submitting or joining this blog in order to do actual beer reviews like other sites do. Specific location is not required.

Hi.

I just moved to San Francisco from the east coast. I’m a computer guy so I’m trying to get a good job in some of the incredible companies around the Bay Area. Housing and jobs are much harder than I thought to come by so I’ve been bouncing around most of North San Francisco. I’ve stayed in Nob Hill, Haight, Mission and SOMA so far. But once I get some personal stuff in order, I’m hoping to be in Russian Hill/Marina area full time.

Since being in San Francisco, I’ve had a blast. Beer week/month was so awesome. I lived near Magnolia this month so they had Beer Month. Also 21st Amendment had Beer Month. Enjoyed many of their brews.

As for Oakland, I haven’t ventured there yet. I know there are a bunch of places I need to hit up there.

I love to eat and drink. The breweries out here have incredible beer and food. My only complaint with the food is there is next to nothing on my plate. One of these places I paid $30 for a pork chop with a spoon full of rice and 5 pieces of Asparagus. That means I’m still hungry and now more broke so I cannot partake in more of your awesome beer(that runs me $8 for a tiny ass glass). I’ve learned out here not to eat a breweries because frankly, I’d rather drink your beer.

So I usually hit some places on the way to the breweries/bars instead of eating there. Much more economical.

Toronado is amazing! Go there and be merry, cash only, get pizza or sausages from next door, bring em in, save room for the tamale lady. Also, go up the street on haight to Magnolia's they brew their own beer, lots on cask, amazing stuff

This was sent to me mad long ago. 3 months ago this message made no sense but I’ve been living in this area now for enough time to understand it.

Magnolias is NEVER not busy….and I mean packed. Love the beer. I’ve passed there on purpose in the morning, noon and night time. PACKED.

Toronado has incredible layout of beer. With that selection and so little time till it also gets busy(another bar that gets PACKED), I need to be there at 10 in the morning to try all the beer I have never tried and or want to try.

Rosamude-The sausages…I order 2..must have 2 and a Boyland’s Black Cherry. YUM.

Mad Dog in the Fog-Another great beer selection and really good wings.

And I’m typing this from International Cafe which has been my hangout due to back porch, Middle Eastern food, coffee, flat almost cheap beer, and decently less shitty internet access the house I’m staying.

Squat & Gobble (All day Happy Hour……..$2.75,Anchor Steam and Sierra Nevada)
Martin Macks
Noodle place
Indian place
Ben and Jerry’s on Haight and Ashbury
The more upscale market with an incredible beer selection

Thank you for your suggestions and now they make sense!

Any places I missed? I’ve got a day or 2 here still.
